As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to calls for assistance while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify maintenance concerns, and report suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and fire and/or intrusion alarms, and coordinate with campus officials and local responders as directed.
  • Control access to designated areas by monitoring doors and gates, checking identification when required, managing visitor entry, and documenting observations in activity logs and incident reports.
  • Assist with campus operations as needed, such as providing directions, escorting authorized persons upon request, supporting special events, and helping with traffic and parking enforcement in accordance with post orders.
