As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entrances, verify identification, issue and track badges, and manage visitor and vendor check-in. You will complete routine patrols, document incidents, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related concerns while providing strong customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at employee, visitor, and vendor entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, maintaining entry logs, and directing arrivals to designated check-in areas.
  • Coordinate access for deliveries and outbound shipments by checking driver credentials, validating pickup and/or drop-off documentation, managing gate operations, and communicating with site personnel as needed.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, document irregular activity, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas such as docks, trailer yards, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
