As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry and exit by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and documenting activity. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, and communicate clearly with site teams to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, including verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or access points, including screening vehicles and deliveries per post orders, checking authorization, and directing traffic to designated areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter checks and key control points, reporting hazards and/or unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, use access control and security-related systems and/or radios, and coordinate with site personnel and Allied Universal supervision to support daily operations.
