As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry and exit by checking credentials, controlling gate access, logging visitors and deliveries, and supporting truck and employee traffic flow. You will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while delivering friendly communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Operate the access control post by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or credentials, and controlling access for employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers.
  • Manage visitor and contractor processing, including check-in and check-out, issuing temporary credentials as directed by site policy, and providing clear directions to designated areas.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by coordinating access for deliveries and pickups, confirming scheduled appointments when required, and routing drivers to appropriate docks and staging areas.
  • Maintain accurate logs of arrivals, departures, incidents, and unusual conditions using written reports and/or electronic systems.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other access control systems, and communicate observed irregular activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, documenting actions taken, and assisting with scene control as directed by site policy.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checks of gates, doors, yard areas, and restricted zones to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Assist with traffic flow at entry points and yard areas by providing directions and supporting orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians per site procedures.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures when requested, including accounting support at access points and providing information to responding personnel.
