As an Allied Universal Officer in a government location, you will manage access control by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and guiding people through entry procedures. You will monitor assigned areas, complete routine patrols, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with staff and the public to help reduce disruptions. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Control entry points by checking credentials, verifying authorization, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs in accordance with post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, and report irregular activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations through the established chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public agencies as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, documenting findings in required reports.
