As a Screener in a healthcare location, you will welcome staff, patients, and visitors while helping manage entry points through check-in screening, badge verification, and clear communication. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document security-related activity, and assist clinical teams with de-escalation and other site procedures. Requirements

  • Be able to work in a hospital environment where vaccines are present.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct entrance screening by greeting arrivals, verifying identification and/or appointments as required, issuing visitor credentials when authorized, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in or service area.
  • Monitor entry points for prohibited items and/or unauthorized access, support package and bag screening as assigned, and promptly report concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, initiating notifications, and documenting events per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and the perimeter as assigned, observing for unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations, and reporting findings according to site procedures.
