Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Screener at a government location, you will greet visitors, conduct entry screening, verify credentials, and help manage access control and badge activity. You will monitor assigned areas, complete routine patrols as needed, respond to alarm panel notifications, and document security-related observations using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a government facility by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen visitors, employees, and deliveries at entry points using magnetometer and/or x-ray screening equipment, and conduct bag checks in accordance with post orders.
  • Verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor passes when directed, and maintain entry screening logs and/or required documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, corridors, and perimeter, and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
