Requirements
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- A Corrections Officer license is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting visitor credentials, and directing guests to appropriate departments or meeting areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating with site contacts and/or local emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Complete security-related reports and logs, document incidents and unusual activity, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
