Requirements

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A Corrections Officer license is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting visitor credentials, and directing guests to appropriate departments or meeting areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating with site contacts and/or local emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, document incidents and unusual activity, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
