As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and visitors in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with inquiries and directions related to access procedures and site policies.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and report irregularities or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for chemical or petrochemical environments.
  • Document all access control activities, incidents, and observations in daily logs and/or reports as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Follow all location-specific procedures related to security, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response.
  • Participate in emergency response activities when appropriate, such as evacuations or shelter-in-place procedures, in accordance with site policies.
