As an unarmed patrol officer at an educational campus location, you will conduct routine foot patrols of buildings, walkways, and parking areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations, support staff and students, and work with your team in line with Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, care, and integrity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and common areas, check doors and gates for proper closure, and report maintenance issues that could create security-related vulnerabilities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, coordinating with campus contacts, and/or requesting law enforcement or medical support as needed.
- Complete detailed incident reports and patrol documentation, communicate key updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives, and support site rules and guest conduct expectations.
