As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with clear communication and strong customer service. Requirements

  • Must have an Armed Virginia Security Officer License with Firearm Endorsement
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security/law enforcement/military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site visitors and government staff by following post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct armed patrols of government buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, completing regular and random patrols to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Perform entry screening and access control duties, including verifying identification, managing visitor logs, and monitoring checkpoints in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and/or local law enforcement as needed.
  • Complete detailed written reports, maintain accurate logs, and communicate security-related observations and incidents to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
