As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will carry out security-related checks, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while delivering strong customer service. This role requires an Armed Guard Card or License and reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, care, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have a CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with clinical staff and/or local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, managing visitor check-in processes, and monitoring entrances and restricted areas according to site requirements.
  • Carry and maintain authorized duty equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements, and post orders, and complete incident reports and activity logs as required.
