As an Armed Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and guide staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will complete routine patrols and incident documentation, helping to deter security-related issues while supporting clinical operations. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 2+ years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and healthcare facility protocols for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor check-in and badging, and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor entry points and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and access control panels, and document unusual activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical campus emergencies, disruptive behavior, and access issues, and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, and complete patrol logs and reports.
