Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disturbances, alarms, and other unplanned events.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, public areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment and post orders.
  • Operate entry screening posts, including monitoring walk-through metal detectors and x-ray systems, checking bags and packages, and addressing prohibited items per site policy.
  • Control access by verifying identification, managing visitor logs, issuing badges, and directing visitors to appropriate departments while following government facility procedures.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radio traffic, and other security-related systems and/or communications equipment; report unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, including incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation, with clear and accurate details.
  • Coordinate with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed to address incidents and support investigations.
  • Maintain readiness for armed post duties by following firearms handling procedures, complying with licensing and qualification requirements, and storing equipment per policy.
  • Support orderly movement of visitors and staff by providing directions, managing lines at screening points, and addressing questions or concerns in a professional manner.
  • Assist with enforcing site rules and posted restrictions to help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Allied Universal and site leadership consistent with post orders.
