You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control with professional communication. You will respond to reports, document activity, and assist employees and visitors with customer-focused service. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter routes; document unusual conditions and help to deter prohibited activity.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas; verify identification, badges, and/or permits as required; assist with screening or controlled entry procedures per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespassing, suspicious items, and/or medical calls; coordinate with local law enforcement and/or transit personnel when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports, incident logs, and shift documentation; communicate status updates and observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts.
