As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, students, and visitors through clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to situations as needed, and collaborate with site partners and teammates while acting with integrity in a caring, people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government education location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access points by monitoring entrances, verifying identification when required, managing visitor check-in, and directing foot and vehicle traffic in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local public responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual conditions in written reports and logs, and communicate observations and/or concerns to Allied Universal supervision.
