As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with respectful customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report concerns, and communicate clearly while working as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative. You will act with integrity and help put people first every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting clinical staff and/or local responders, and following post orders.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization as required, and direct visitors to appropriate destinations while maintaining awareness of restricted areas and privacy expectations.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observed hazards in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate pertinent information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
