As an Access Control Officer at a cultural institution location, you will greet visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, and monitor alarms and cameras to help reduce security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and guests while providing customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Posses a valid Drivers license for at least 1 year
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, clergy, parishioners, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as directed.
  • Manage access control at entrances and restricted areas by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor entry points, cameras, and/or alarm indications for unusual activity, and report concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, summoning emergency services when needed, and completing clear incident documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, worship spaces, offices, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or property damage; working environments and conditions may vary by location and events.
