Job Description As a Security Officer - TWIC Maritime Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol ferry terminals and waterfront areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and assist the public with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, report concerns, and work with site teams to support smooth daily operations. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation facility.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of terminal areas, waiting areas, docks, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and direct individuals to appropriate entrances, queuing areas, and/or service locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site representatives and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Complete reports on incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate timely updates through approved channels and/or post orders.
