About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Officer in Petaluma, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of concerns. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to hospital staff, patients, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, and medical facility alerts, while notifying the appropriate parties.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the medical campus, including entrances, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Support access control by monitoring entry points, directing visitors to the proper locations, verifying credentials when required, and assisting with wayfinding while respecting privacy expectations.
  • Complete routine documentation such as activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
