Job Description As a Security Officer - Federal Facility Patrol in Richmond, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, maintain a highly visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and assist employees and visitors with directions and support. You will monitor activity, communicate clearly with site contacts and responders, document observations, and act with integrity while working as part of a reliable, people-first team.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following site-specific security-related procedures, post orders, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and direct employees, contractors, and the public to appropriate locations.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and/or traffic and roadway-related issues.
Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic logs and promptly communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
