As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support associates and shoppers with strong customer service and clear communication while documenting observations and responding to calls for assistance. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license and meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements, backed by a caring, integrity-driven team.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, stock areas, entrances, exits, and parking areas to help to deter theft, loitering, and other suspicious activity.
- Monitor assigned areas for signs of unusual activity, potential hazards, and policy violations, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including customer disputes, suspected shoplifting, medical situations, and alarms, and assist with documentation as required.
- Control access as assigned, observe for unauthorized entry, and assist with crowd and queue management during peak shopping periods and special events.
