As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage check-in and outbound processes, and support access control using a computer and/or tablet. You will maintain a visible presence, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with operations teams to help reduce disruptions. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen and verify employees, visitors, and vendors during entry and exit, including checking identification, confirming authorization, and directing foot traffic and vehicle traffic to the correct processing areas.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound activity such as deliveries, trailers, and shipping and receiving flows, reporting irregularities and/or policy violations according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
