As a Security Officer - Entry Desk Monitor in Queens, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies for an academic location, including greeting and directing students, faculty, staff, vendors, and visitors.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and maintaining visitor, delivery, and key control logs.
  • Monitor entrances, alarms, and available surveillance systems from the assigned post, reporting irregular activity and/or maintenance concerns through the appropriate channels to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating to site leadership and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Support emergency response activities by following posted procedures for events such as medical incidents, fire alarms, and evacuations, and communicating clear instructions to occupants as directed.
