As an Allied Universal Officer supporting access control at a busy retail location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and badge processes, and document activity using site technology. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and staff with clear, professional communication. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail or mall location.
  • Monitor and control entry to back-of-house areas, stockrooms, and employee-only corridors by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining sign-in logs per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including support with guest disputes, lost children reports, and coordination with store management and/or local responders as needed.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry and theft-related activity by observing shopper and employee traffic, monitoring cameras and alarms, and documenting unusual activity for follow-up.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including parking areas, loading docks, and common areas, with working environments and conditions varying by client site.
