Security Officer - Entrance Screener

As a Security Officer Screener in La Grange Highlands, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help inspect access points, monitor activity, and support orderly site operations through strong communication and customer service. This role offers the chance to stay active, visible, and engaged while helping to deter security-related incidents. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and conduct screening of individuals, packages, and/or personal items in accordance with post procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by observing high-traffic areas, maintaining awareness of restricted zones, and following established security-related protocols.
