As a Dispatch Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will be the communication hub for security-related activity, monitoring systems, coordinating officer assignments, and documenting incidents with clear, professional reports. You will support patrol teams with timely information, assist staff and visitors with directions and service, and help keep operations running smoothly. Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Receive and triage calls for service, radio traffic, and electronic alerts, then dispatch officers and/or appropriate resources according to post orders and incident priority.
  • Monitor access control systems, fire panels, intrusion alarms, and/or video surveillance systems, escalating unusual activity and documenting observations that may help to deter security-related incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to on-site leadership and/or public responders as directed by site policy.
  • Maintain accurate, timely logs and reports of dispatch activity, incidents, patrol check-ins, and equipment status, and communicate shift briefings and updates to incoming personnel.
