As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, report concerns, and support students, staff, and visitors with courteous communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific policies, and established security-related procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate campus resources and/or emergency services as required.
  • Monitor and report access control concerns, such as propping doors, unauthorized entry attempts, and/or suspicious behavior, and assist with directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Complete shift activity reports and incident reports, communicate key information during post turnover, and support security-related emergency response activities in accordance with site procedures.
