About The Position
As a Security Officer - Education Perimeter Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations throughout the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential security-related concerns.
- Observe and report any irregularities or suspicious activities encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site procedures.
- Support emergency response efforts by communicating clearly with team members and first responders when needed.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to students, staff, and visitors.
