Job Description As a Security Guard - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting an education location where your presence and customer service matter. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds indoors and outdoors, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will also support access points, assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with campus partners while living our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tue 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, campus site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify the appropriate campus contacts and/or public services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle traffic for unusual conditions, supporting access control practices and reporting policy violations.
• Complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol observations, and shift activities, and communicate relevant updates during post briefings and/or handoffs.
