About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Roving Patrol in Melbourne, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a leading aero and defense location, you will monitor grounds and facilities, perform routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support employees and visitors with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, caring approach to every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Control access at gates, lobbies, and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and coordinating escorts when required.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, hangar areas, parking lots, and perimeter routes, noting unusual activity and/or hazards and reporting findings.
  • Monitor cameras, radios, and access control systems; write clear incident reports and shift logs; and support security-related screening and property control measures as assigned.
