As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, assist students, staff, and visitors, and support a caring, people-first environment through teamwork and integrity. This is a driving post, so a valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an academic location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, access points, and surveillance systems, reporting suspicious conditions and/or maintenance concerns through established channels.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift pass-downs, supporting investigations by preserving observations and/or available video in accordance with site policy.
