Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Elk Grove Village, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to reports, document observations, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, offering variety and teamwork in a role built on integrity, reliability, and innovation.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor and document access points as assigned, including checking identification, verifying visitor purpose, and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate notifications to site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of patrol findings, incidents, and noteworthy activity, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff.
