Job Description As a Security Officer - Dispatch Operations in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch professional in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and coordinate security-related activities, supporting a secure environment through clear communication and timely response. Your role involves maintaining visibility, helping to deter incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • A Guard Card or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Operate dispatch systems to monitor and coordinate security-related activities across the location.
  • Receive, document, and communicate information regarding incidents, emergencies, and routine matters to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting employees, visitors, and contractors in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, relaying accurate information to relevant parties.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of all communications, incidents, and activities as required by site procedures.
  • Support Allied Universal team members and on-site staff by facilitating communication and response during security-related events.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and/or internal teams as directed during emergency situations.
