About The Position

As a Security Officer - Day Shift Patrol Driver in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a leading tech data center location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document activity, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer service that reflects Allied Universal values of integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license in line with AU Driver Policy requirements.

Requirements

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and assist with timely notifications and documentation per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, corridors, equipment areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems, verify authorization as required, and report irregular conditions such as doors left ajar, damaged fencing, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete detailed written reports and logs, support shift turnover communications, and coordinate with site contacts and/or local responders as directed.
