As a Security Officer - Customer Service Post in Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Security Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors, and document activity using site technology. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at an industrial chemical and petrochemical location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access by verifying identification, managing visitor processing, and documenting entries and exits in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing incident reports, and supporting first responder coordination as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, tank farms, staging areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards and unusual conditions.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and communications systems, and coordinate with site operations and Allied Universal leadership to address security-related concerns and/or service requests.
