About The Position

As a Security Officer Customer Service Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will work with integrity and teamwork while bringing a caring, agile, and reliable approach to each shift.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns to site leadership when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefronts, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas while assisting with access control, crowd management, and/or directional support during busy business periods.
Support retail property operations by communicating with management, following post orders, and assisting with incident response, lost and found matters, and other security-related concerns as assigned.
