About The Position

As a Security Officer Credential Verification Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will manage access control, monitor activity, and perform routine patrols to help support a secure environment. This is a driving post. You will interact with staff and visitors, respond to security-related concerns, and represent our agile, reliable, and innovative team with a caring, people-first approach, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing authorized individuals throughout the location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and other controlled access points to help support authorized entry and help to deter unauthorized activity within a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and communicate security-related concerns, policy violations, and unusual activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to observe conditions, report hazards and/or maintenance concerns, and help support established security-related procedures.
