As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will report concerns, assist staff and visitors with clear communication, and deliver great customer service while working as part of a team. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with notifications, documentation, and coordination with on-site personnel and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with directing visitors to appropriate departments or locations.
  • Complete written and/or electronic activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to supervision, and report maintenance hazards or unusual conditions through established channels.
