About The Position

As a Security Officer - Corporate Building Access Control in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will welcome employees and guests, support access control and badging, and monitor activity from a reception post while keeping detailed logs and communicating concerns. You will deliver a customer-first experience, use technology tools to stay organized, and collaborate with site teams to help maintain a professional, security-related presence. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a front desk within a technology office location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Greet and screen visitors, issue visitor credentials, verify identification, and direct guests and/or vendors according to site access procedures.
  • Monitor lobby activity, phone calls, and email or radio communications; document routine activity and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs, access records, and incident reports in accordance with Allied Universal requirements and site-specific policies.
