About The Position

As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests and tenants, communicate clearly with store teams, and document observations and reports. Bring an agile, reliable mindset as you support a caring, people-first culture, deliver through teamwork, and act with integrity every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a retail shopping location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, disputes, and/or policy violations and escalating per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail common areas, storefront corridors, service halls, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, observing for suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or hazards and reporting concerns per site protocols.
  • Complete required reports and documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift summaries, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives.
