As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns as they arise. You will support loss prevention efforts, assist shoppers and store teams with clear communication, and document observations to help protect people and property. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, customer concerns and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with store leadership and local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, receiving areas, back-of-house spaces and the perimeter to help to deter theft, loitering and/or other policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits and high-traffic areas, assisting with access control and observing for unusual activity while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Complete reports and required documentation for incidents, observations and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to the appropriate personnel.
