About The Position

As a Security Officer Communications Desk in Sioux Falls, SD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. In this role, you will monitor activity, coordinate responses to security-related events, communicate with on-site teams, and help support smooth daily operations through strong customer service and technology use. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, dispatch protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor phones, radios, alarms, cameras, and/or other communication systems to receive calls for service, document activity, and relay information to the appropriate personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Coordinate responses to incidents, access issues, maintenance concerns, and/or critical situations across the location, helping to support timely communication with onsite teams and external responders when needed.
  • Maintain detailed logs, incident reports, and shift activity records, helping to support awareness of security-related concerns, operational updates, and unusual activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrol coordination and status checks around the business and perimeter, while working in environments and conditions that may vary by location.
