About The Position

As a Security Officer - Commercial Patrol in Lower Manhattan, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders for a commercial property.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of building common areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, lobbies, loading areas, and/or parking areas; verify authorization, issue visitor directions, and report suspicious activity per site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting property management and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Document patrol activities, observations, and incidents in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate timely updates during shift turnovers.
