Security Officer - Patrol - Lower Manhattan
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Patrol in Lower Manhattan, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a professional office location, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control as needed. You will be a calm, customer-focused point of contact, communicating clearly with employees and visitors while documenting activity using site technology. Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor for irregular activity and/or policy violations and report findings through required documentation and notification procedures.
- Assist with access control as directed, including observing entry and exit activity and verifying authorization when required.
