About The Position

As a Security Officer - Telecom Command Center in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and data infrastructure location.
  • Operate the dispatch post by monitoring alarms, access control, video surveillance, intercoms, and other site systems, and coordinating responses per post orders.
  • Answer inbound calls, radio traffic, and electronic requests; document and route information to the appropriate personnel following escalation guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as required.
  • Create accurate, timely reports of incidents, maintenance issues, and unusual activity using client and Allied Universal reporting tools.
  • Maintain activity logs, key and/or badge accountability, and other required documentation to support site operations and compliance requirements.
  • Support access control processes by verifying authorization, assisting with visitor check-in and/or credential requests, and directing individuals to appropriate locations per site policy.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as directed by post orders. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity by maintaining a high-visibility presence, monitoring assigned areas, and promptly reporting concerns.
  • Assist with emergency and/or continuity procedures such as fire alarms, medical incidents, power issues, and system outages by coordinating communications and dispatching resources per site protocols.
  • Coordinate with local emergency services and/or facility teams when requested, providing clear information and access guidance per site procedures.
  • Participate in shift turnover by briefing incoming personnel on active issues, recent incidents, and outstanding tasks, and maintaining readiness of dispatch equipment and supplies.
