Job Description As a Security Officer - University Patrol in Dearborn, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols across buildings, classrooms, and common areas, staying highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will monitor activity, respond to concerns, write clear reports, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service and communication. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
Be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and/or public emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Control access at designated entrances by monitoring for authorized entry, issuing directions, and escalating concerns per site procedures.
Observe and report unusual conditions such as suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, damaged property, or hazards, and notify site contacts for corrective action.
Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, including patrol findings, access issues, and response actions.
Assist with security-related support during campus events, including monitoring crowd flow, checking restricted areas, and responding to service requests.
Provide guidance and de-escalation support during student conduct issues when appropriate, and request additional assistance when needed.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other campus systems when assigned, and dispatch response per site protocols.
Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols in varying weather conditions and throughout multiple campus locations as required by the assignment.
