As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication. You will document activities, assist visitors and staff, and support a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific policies, and assigned post orders at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access by checking identification, issuing visitor directions, and verifying authorization for entry to restricted areas when required by site procedures.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions such as open doors, damaged property, suspicious behavior, and policy violations, and notify the appropriate contacts per site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and assisting with site emergency response activities as directed.
  • Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and/or video systems when assigned, and take appropriate action consistent with post orders and client procedures.
  • Complete detailed written reports, activity logs, and incident documentation in a timely manner, including statements and evidence handling per policy.
  • Provide escort assistance for staff and/or contractors when requested, and support secured movement of personnel and materials as directed.
  • Assist with traffic and parking control during peak periods, public meetings, construction activity, and/or special events, following site direction and local requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with site management, public agency representatives, and local responders to support coordinated resolution of security-related issues.
