Job Description As a Security Officer - Chemical Gate Monitor in Sulphur, LA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents within a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location. You will interact with personnel and visitors, providing outstanding customer service while supporting a secure environment. This is a driving role, so a valid driver's license is required. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Provide customer service by assisting individuals with questions regarding access procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to observe for unusual activity and help to deter security-related risks.
  • Document observations and incidents as required, maintaining accurate and timely reports according to site procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations or lockdowns when necessary.
