About The Position

Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor access points and screen people and items entering the facility. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations using site technology. You will deliver strong customer service, clear communication, and teamwork while acting with integrity as part of Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to be able to lift more than 20 lbs.
  • Preferred to be comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control, and other security-related protocols at a logistics and distribution location, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and contractors as they enter and exit, including verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing individuals to the appropriate area while following site rules and posted instructions.
  • Inspect packages, bags, and items as required by post orders using approved screening methods and equipment, and/or conduct walkthrough screening while maintaining a professional, respectful approach.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete required logs and reports, document screening activity and unusual events, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts as directed.
